Some maps for World Robberfly Day
Today is World Robberfly Day. an event with a long and distinguished history, dating all the way back to a bright idea from Erica McAlister in 2015. The first thing you should do is to head over to Twitter or Facebook and look for the tag #WorldRobberflyDay to see lots of amazingly awesome asilids from all round the globe.
To add to the celebrations here is a set of distribution maps for Asilidae (robberflies) in Britain, covering our 28 species. Thanks to everyone who has sent in records, and also to Malcolm Smart for helping to check the maps.
