Important Invertebrate Areas
Data from the Soldierflies and Allies Recording Scheme has now been supplied to Buglife to help inform the "Important Invertebrate Areas" project. Buglife say "Important Invertebrate Areas are nationally and internationally significant places for the conservation of invertebrates and the habitats upon which they rely. They will be a vital tool for the conservation of our most threatened species and the maintenance of sustainable populations of declining species."
It's good to see the records being used to inform analysis for conservation, and as ever thanks to all who contribute to the scheme. A document describing the Buglife project is available to download (PDF).
